Pulpal responses to two luting cements.

چکیده
Labial cavities in vervet monkeys were filled with two luting cements and 2 control materials (negative and positive). Specimens were recovered and examined histo logically. There war little difference between the pulpal reactions to the 4 materials. The reactions to the two test materials (luting cements) are, in 28 and 56 day spec imens, not more severe than the reactions to the negative control material. OPSOMMING

Human pulp response to resin cements used to bond inlay restorations.
OBJECTIVE The aim of this study was to evaluate the pulp response following cementation of inlays using two different resin cements. METHODS Deep Class V cavities were prepared on the buccal surface of 34 sound human premolars. Impressions were taken and inlays were prepared which were cemented with the following luting materials-Group 1: Rely X Unicem (3M ESPE); Group 2: Variolink II (Ivocla...
متن کاملMicrotensile Bond Strength of Cad-Cam and Pressed-Ceramic Inlays to Dentin
OBJECTIVES CAD-CAM system is popular because of high esthetic and short fabrication time. But, there is limited information available about the microtensile bonding of luting cements to CAD-CAM inlays and to dentin. The aim of this study was to examine the bond strength of CAD-CAM (Cerec 3) and pressed-ceramic (IPS Empress 2) inlays to dentin surface by microtensile testing using two luting cem...
متن کاملThe Effect of Temperature on Compressive and Tensile Strengths of Commonly Used Luting Cements: An In Vitro Study
BACKGROUND The luting cements must withstand masticatory and parafunctional stresses in the warm and wet oral environment. Mouth temperature and the temperature of the ingested foods may induce thermal variation and plastic deformation within the cements and might affect the strength properties. The objectives of this study were to evaluate the effect of temperature on the compressive and diame...
متن کاملCytotoxicity of temporary cements on bovine dental pulp-derived cells (bDPCs) using realtime cell analysis
PURPOSE To evaluate the cytotoxicity of temporary luting cements on bovine dental pulp-derived cells (bDPCs). MATERIALS AND METHODS Four different temporary cements were tested: Rely X Temp E (3M ESPE), Ultratemp (Ultradent), GC Fuji Temp (GC), and Rely X Temp NE (3M ESPE). The materials were prepared as discs and incubated in Dulbecco's modified eagle's culture medium (DMEM) for 72 hours acc...
متن کاملSelection of luting agents, part 1.
The clinical success of indirect restorations is dependent on multiple factors that include preparation design, mechanical forces, restorative material selection, oral hygiene, and selection of a proper luting agent. The selection of the luting agent is dependent on the specific clinical situation, the type of restoration utilized and the physical, biologic, and handling properties of the lutin...
